Lone Star Rodeo

So far this was one of my favorite events that I’ve covered in college. The Lone Star Rodeo travels all around the American Southwest and makes its way to Bowling Green once each year. At the rodeo, I was looking to come back with visual variety of the event for the WKU Herald’s photo page, but in addition to that, I focused on the kids the of the rodeo, the future leaders of the sport. They opened up to me on what riding means to them and told me that most kids back home don’t even believe them when they say where they go on weekends. All around, a very visually rich event and I look forward to continuing a focus on “Rodeo Kids” in the future.

Ice Climbing Iowa

On assignment for the WKU College Heights Herald and the Talisman Yearbook, I took a trip to Cedar Falls, IA to ice climb with Western Kentucky’s Outdoor Rec program. Here are some of my favorite from the trip and six photos made the Herald’s photo page the next week.

Week One

Tried starting out my first week of class on a strong note. Shot five or six different events looking for a single for my Intermediate Photojournalism class.
